Biography

Leslie Bornstein Molder, a partner in Barrack, Rodos & Bacine, a key member of the Firm’s case evaluation and client services group. Leslie has served as the part in charge of the portfolio monitoring services the Firm provides to institutional clients since 2002.  She supervises the day-to-day operations of the staff responsible for portfolio monitoring and case investigations.

Leslie also has extensive litigation and trial experience in complex civil litigation, including securities class actions, antitrust class actions, policyholder actions against insurance companies, and other commercial cases, including cases involving disputes between securities brokerage firms and their customers.  She is also BR&B’s settlement attorney, with broad experience documenting and effectuating settlements of class actions, and assisting clients throughout the settlement process.

Notable Cases

  • In re WorldCom, Inc. Securities Litigation, Master File No. 02-Civ-3288 (DLC), before the Honorable Denise L. Cote in the Southern District of New York, which yielded a record-breaking recovery of $6.19 billion for the class.
  • In re Cendant Corp. Litigation, Master File No. 98-1664 (WHW) before the Honorable William H. Walls in the District of New Jersey, which resulted in settlements totaling $3.32 billion, the highest ever achieved in the U.S. Third Circuit, as well as extensive corporate governance reforms.
  • Rieff v. Evans (Allied Mutual Demutualization Litigation), Civil Action No. CE35780, in the Polk County, Iowa, District Court, which resulted in a settlement of $130 million that was distributed to former Allied Mutual policyholders who were disenfranchised following its acquisition by Nationwide Insurance Company.
