Barrack, Rodos & Bacine Announces Appointment of New Partner

1/5/2015 - Barrack, Rodos & Bacine announces the promotion of attorney Lisa M. Port to partner, effective January 5, 2015.  At the Firm, Ms. Port has been involved in the prosecution of both class and derivative cases and was an integral member of the team prosecuting In re American International Group, Inc. 2008 Securities Litigation, which recently settled for $970.5 million and is currently pending final Court approval.  Ms. Port is also involved in the Firm's prosecution of In re DFC Global Corp. Securities Litigation and Becker v. The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A., et al., both of which are pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  She was part of the litigation teams in In re The Mills Corporation Securities Litigation ($202.75 million settlement), In re R&G Financial Securities Litigation ($51 million settlement), and In re Bridgestone Securities Litigation ($30 million settlement), and in other consolidated shareholder cases.  In addition, Ms. Port was a member of the highly successful trial team in In re WorldCom, Inc. Securities Litigation, a prosecution that yielded a record-breaking recovery of more than $6.19 billion for defrauded investors.

Ms. Port graduated summa cum laude from Villanova University School of Law in 2003, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and an associate editor of the Villanova Law Review.  She received her B.A. in psychology, with honors, from Princeton University in 2000.  Ms. Port was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania in 2003.  She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Northern District of Illinois.  She was selected as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star” by Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers in 2013.
