Court Allows Derivative Action Against Dow Chemical Management and Board of Directors to Proceed

11/18/2014 - The Honorable Sue L. Robinson of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware has denied the defendants’ motion to dismiss in Kaufman v. Allemang, et al., Civ No. 13-359-SLR, a derivative action brought against the board of directors and highest-paid officers of The Dow Chemical Corporation, alleging violations of section 14(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.  Barrack, Rodos and Bacine serves as counsel in the action, representing a stockholder plaintiff.

BR&B Announces Supplemental Distribution of Funds Recovered from Fraudulent Filer in Quaker Oats Case

6/18/2014 - BR&B announces that the Honorable Rebecca J. Pallmeyer, of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, has signed an order permitting a supplemental distribution to claimants of recently-recovered funds in a 1998 class action on behalf of investors in the common  stock of The Quaker Oats Company that settled in 2001 for $9.9 million.  Prior distributions were made in 2003 and 2006.  The current distribution is being made as a result of the successful prosecution of Alvin J.
